Geographical Area (GA)

A Geographical Area, in Indian City Gas Distribution regulation, is a defined administrative and geographic zone that PNGRB authorises a specific CGD entity to develop and operate gas distribution infrastructure within, typically covering one or more districts. GA authorisation is the regulatory unit City Gas Distribution licensing, build-out obligations, and integrity reporting are all organised around, which is why it appears constantly in PNGRB filings and CGD operator documentation even though it rarely gets explained outside that regulatory context.
