ASME B31.8S
ASME B31.8S is the standard governing the management of integrity for gas transmission pipeline systems, widely used in the United States and referenced internationally, including in India, as a framework for structuring an integrity management programme - covering threat identification and categorisation, risk assessment, and inspection interval planning. It organises pipeline threats into named categories (such as time-dependent, stable, and time-independent threats), which is the categorisation scheme most gas-pipeline integrity engineers already think in.
